I am always happy to learn new stuff, and accept that recent patches may have changed things, but GǪ. I do not believe that GSCs, anchored or free-floating, can be probe scanned down. I also doubt that a sensibly placed GSC can be located, in any reasonable time-frame, through the use of the DS. But, hey, IGÇÖm a doubting kind of person.
You can probe scan ships that are uncloaked at their resupply GSCs, and I have been in fleets where weGÇÖve killed our own members who go AFK while uncloaked at our resupply cans in hostile systems GǪ because their lack of care is putting all of our resupply stuff and all our people at great risk. You can GÇÿseeGÇÖ GSCs on DS but cannot get a lock on them unless you are ongrid and can see them also in your overview. You can use your DS range and direction functions, coupled with a lot of warping to-and-fro while watching your overview closely, to home-in on a GSC-in-space. It is theoretically possible to locate a GSC using this method GǪ but I have found trying to do so to be a huge and tedious PITA. I have never succeeded in doing so, and have tried on several occasions.
As stated above I also have some doubts about peopleGÇÖs claims to be able to do this, to locate a GSC in space, but that may well be simply based on the fact that I have not managed to do so myself and so (egotistically) doubt that others can do so. Of course, anchoring a can ongrid with a celestial or in some other tard-location doesnGÇÖt count GǪ you donGÇÖt need any skills to find them. IGÇÖd be happy to enter into a little wager with anyone who reckons that they can do this GÇô IGÇÖd anchor a can in a convenient (for me) hisec system, name it something obvious, and challenge you to find it and bookmark the location within a couple of days. You know, a kinda put-your-money-where-your-mouth-is type of challenge. What say, does anyone want to put some isk up against their claimed skills and accept Subs-can-can challenge?
On the issue that the OP raises. Not so long ago I recall reading a thread from a w-space corp / alliance that provides each new member with their own POS. I assume theirs was a system with a squillion moons, that the individual members are responsible for fueling their POSes, and that forcefield passwords are used as the primary security barrier. Initially it seemed an odd idea to me but later I came to understand the defensive value of having a tower anchored at every moon, even if not onlined. That approach may be an option for you, IDK.
We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |
